If yous have little ones at domicile, or take had little ones at abode, then you've probably experienced "joy," when y'all saw them fold launder rags for the beginning time, or sweep the floor. (It doesn't last long, then hang on to those moments, right?) Merely equally a parent of toddlers, you've more than likely experienced trying to clean with toddlers. What's the quote well-nigh that???
Cleaning firm with toddlers, is like trying to castor your teeth while eating Oreo's?
Aye… that.
So in social club to become "Spring Cleaning," accomplished in my house of toddlers, I figured it was time to go artistic. I decided to make our "Jump Cleaning," day, an effect! Almost like a "party," in their eyes. We talked about information technology for days, leading upward to the the "event," and talked about what we were going to do! The excitement was building…
Plow the music on in the business firm…loud!
Have a dance political party every time we finished a chore.
Each have our own rags, and cleaning solution. (Vinegar & Water)
Become the carpets wet. (Which to me was, simply cleaning the carpets, but the boys couldn't wrap their heads around why information technology would be ok to get the rug wet for a change!)
… and so much more.
It was finally time, and Spring Cleaning twenty-four hour period arrived! I'll run you through the items I permit my toddlers help with, so you tin have your own Bound Cleaning "Political party," with your toddlers!
Jump Cleaning with Toddlers
#1 – Open Those Windows: Offset things first. It's Leap. Open those windows!!! Nothing better than getting some fresh air circulating through the house, right!?
#two – Spray Bottle & Rag Ownership: The boys couldn't WAIT to get their own spray bottles and rags. I let them spray their own "cleaner," (which happened to be a kid-rubber mixture of vinegar and water), and let them go to boondocks, wiping the glass on the windows and doors down. I must mention that my little boys thought the scent of the vinegar, added to the fun. They love saying "Ew," "Stinks," and "It smells like (make full in the bare.)"
#3 – Laundry: Yeah, I know laundry has to be done all year around… but it'south the perfect mean solar day to wash those "not-and so-of import," items that rarely go done, and let your toddlers fold them, AND put them away!
#iv – Getting the Carpet Wet: Oh how I had NO idea how much my kids would love this 1. I suppose I could accept told them to "Stay off of the carpeting," later I cleaned the carpets, only the little stinkers idea it was then fun to run through, getting their socks wet. They even helped me operate the carpet cleaner, and LOVED watching the h2o suck back up in to it, and picket how it turned brown. GROSS! It's shockingly disgusting how dirty carpets get, right!?
I recently received a new BISSELL ProHeat 2x Revolution Pet Upright Rug Cleaner, so I was chompin' at the bit to whip it out. My husband hasn't liked the idea of me having a carpet cleaner again, because I tend to obsess about the reality of how gross our carpets become… so I cease up wanting to shampoo (get the rug wet) once a week. PLEASE tell me that I'm not the just one that gets goosebumps when I see streaks in my carpets, subsequently I'1000 all finished?
#5 – Sweeping: While out shopping ane day, I institute a pocket-sized broom that I knew my boys would love. When they see mom sweeping, they think that they have to join in, and I'thousand all about the "fun," backside letting them help sweet up messes. Take hold of a small broom (to use even all yr effectually) and let them go to work.
#6 – Have Fun: Although I Admire having clean carpets, clean windows, and all sorts of Spring cleaning items complete (some that my toddlers didn't get to help out with)… there's nix ameliorate than making it a FUN event with my kiddos. Make up a rule that every time you finish a spring cleaning job, you must have a trip the light fantastic toe party! My kids LOVED this, and looked forrard to finishing the next chore. Plus… I got a pretty practiced workout in. 😉
My kids dearest watching videos of our every day life, so occasionally I'll secretly set the photographic camera, to hopefully catch precious moments like these…
